Gilded Burmese Angel, gilded teakwood, early 20th C

Standing Burmese angel, 43" H, in Mandalay style with beautiful face and smile, dressed in elaborate court costume and holding a flower. Carved in teakwood with red lacquer undercoat and covered in gold foil, early 20th C. This is "Lekkami Nat", the Burmese version of Lakshmi, who is the treasure guardian . She was a guardian figure in a temple.
