Bulul 06

57 Seated male bulul from Mayoyao, 58cm high. The lean face and hollow checks are probably meant to show the old age of the ancestor spirit that resided in this bulul figure. It comes from Ducligan barangay, on the border between Mayoyao and Banaue districts. It was said to be owned by Mr. Hipog, and to be carved before 1900. Certified as a cultural property by the National Museum of the Philippines, October 2003, with stamp 0084801. NMP said it is Mayoyao style and 19th Century.
