27 Standing female bulul in the Central Ifugao style, 58 cm high, with an old patina from the blood of sacrificed pigs. She has a slight swelling in her lower abdomen that could be a baby-bump. Certified as a cultural property by National Museum of the Philippines with stamp 0073240. The Certificate of Registration describes this bulul as an "Heirloom Piece from Ifugao Province."
The rectangular hour-glass base with top edges decorated with neat small scalloped indentations, and the carving of the head, are features shared with an old 15th to 18th century standing female bulul from Hingyon illustrated in Fig 152 of Philippines. An Archipelago of Exchange by Constance de Monbrison & Corazon Alvina, 2013. I donated this bulul to the National Museum of the Philippines in December 2024, a fine Christmas present.
