21 Seated male bulul from Kababuyan, 32 cm high, very well carved of nara wood with a dark brown patina, and wearing a skull cap. From Kababuyan in Hingyon district, Ifugao Province. Certified as a genuine bulul from the Kababuyan village area by the National Museum of the Philippines, October 2003, stamp 0084796, with estimated age circa 1930-50. This bulul shows the influence of the well-known Ifugao artist Tagiling from Kababuyan who carved bululs that were very realistic and more Western in style, from circa 1900 to 1930. Purchased in Manila from Antiquities of Asia (Rudolf Kratochwill).
