11 Seated figure with wine bowl from Lagawe, 79 cm H. He holds a bowl used to serve rice wine at ceremonies. Purchased in 1997 from Henry Beyer, who had acquired it in Caba village, about 7 km from Lagawe town, Ifugao province. He said it was in the owner's family for three generations. Certified as a cultural property by the National Museum of the Philippines, (stamp 0065842) and estimated by the NMP to date from circa 1940. The edges of the bowl and some other parts of the figure have been chewed by rodents. (Cf. Anderson, Indigenous Art of the Northern Philippines, fig. 253 and 261-265).
